The time of the season-closing Rudas sparty has arrived. If you are looking for extraordinary entertainment for the long week-end in the Hungarian capital, do not miss the summer vibe of the bath fiesta with a wide musical range in its 4 locations. The operators of the breathtaking and cooling watercurtain projections, the LED-walls and -curtains – as well as the DJ’s – are taking efforts from 9 p.m. till 4 a.m. to achieve complete relaxation.
On entering the bath, the first location pumping music is the „beachauditorium” of the hall, where the sample-based music of Waterproof DJ-contest winner MarTone, followed by two resident bootleggers, Waxman and Superman are awaiting swimsuit and summer dress clad dancers.
In the fairytale like visual world of the swimming pool, one can paddle in the hyper-healthy thermal water to the electronic sets of Girls and Mathematics, Titusz from Bëlga and the DJ-duo of Grasshop-Marvin. The fire-and-air performance of Duotrixx and Debora are twisting necks and stirring the senses at 00:30 and 01:30 a.m. The LED-visuals made up of close to 30.000 pixels are conjured up by the duo of Skylab – VJ’s from Space and Kiégő Izzók crew.
Further two musical spots may be found over the cubicles, both of which closes somewhat before the general closing time. The Turkish bath – open till 2 a.m. – is the oldest part of the building, its springs have been providing water of various temperatures for the central, and the later added four pools in the corner for around 500 years. The ancient atmosphere blends smoothly with ambient music by Peter, Kaszi and Jácint. The hottest moments in this location popular with sparty-goers arrive around mindnight, with bellydance and fire show by Amira and the Huris of the Bath. The bar-room closest to the Turkish pools is Cabin Disco, which is open till 3 a.m. and this time is concealing an early-Cinetrip performer, who has moved to Hungary since. Cinetrip, since its relaunch in 2007, has concentrated on the concious choice of musical style for each of its locations, rather than introducing new international guest DJ’s. As a creative mix of the two concepts, apart from resident Sanyi, the disco, funk, soul, latin and nu jazz spot this time will feature recent Budapest-resident, Paul Murphy of Afroart Records.
Don’t waste your time, the bath has a limited capacity!
About CINETRIP – and the summer
The Cinetrip series was launched on 1st January 1998, and has charmed the audience - having enough of the monotony of mundane and standardized parties - in exclusive water- and space-related locations ever since. The series offers soul-soothing and literally body-cherishing thematic programmes for anyone between 18 to 70, reaching the end of its Rudas season with the May Swimsuit Fiesta. But before the restart in October, the bath-holidays are continuing over the summer, what’s more, they will be specialised to some extent, so that each age group really finds the type of night bathing closest to their cultural and musical needs and tastes. The first event of the spoken-word focused Babblin Bath will be featuring Hungarian author Lajos Parti Nagy – but over the next Lukács Bath plunges you will find English-language performers too. Fridays in July-August, an openair water-revu is awaiting different generations in Széchenyi Bath, while 18th July and 22nd August, the Plein air series is back in Siófok to provide exciting entertainment around lake Balaton.
Swimsuit or summer dress recommended, flip-flops/slippers a must and don’t forget your towel!
